Carbon Footprint Ltd launch star system for leading businesses to show true green behaviour

Companies completing a full carbon management programme through Carbon Footprint Ltd are being awarded stars for their good green behaviour, in a new rating system designed to make it easy to recognise those companies who demonstrate true environmental responsibility.

Carbon Footprint Ltd, who offer a full carbon management programme, including a detailed business carbon calculation, emission reduction solutions, and a high quality offsetting portfolio, have launched a system to allow consumers and businesses to understand the environmental quality of the company they are buying from.

With the aim of increased transparency, Carbon Footprint Ltd is leading the way with the three-star Carbon Footprint Approved endorsement system for businesses to use to promote themselves and their products and services. Carbon Footprint Ltd, who pride themselves in encouraging individuals and companies to reduce emissions as well as offsetting, are only making their third star available to those companies who have both offset their past emissions and have proven emission reductions during the course of the previous year.

John Buckley, Managing Director of Carbon Footprint Ltd explained, “More and more businesses are looking into their carbon emissions and marketing themselves as ‘green’ or ‘carbon neutral’, by applying a simple rating scheme, we can define exactly how green they really are and incentivise further carbon reducing activities.”

Under the new endorsement system, companies can claim one star for calculating their emissions, with an additional two stars available should they choose to reduce and/or offset. Once achieved the three star branding will offer businesses increased marketing potential in this new climate change era where understanding real environmental credentials are key to purchasing decisions.
