Carbon Academy Workshop

Carbon Offsetting: The Business Case

09:00-11:30am,

Wednesday 18 April 2012

Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, LONDON

Carbon Offsetting and carbon neutrality are well known terms within the Board room; they can also be misunderstood and misused. When used appropriately and effectively offsetting can make clear and powerful statements to the market an stakeholders, winning new business and enhancing brands and reputation. When done poorly however, offsetting can lead to funding of poor projects and potential accusations of greenwash.

This Breakfast Workshop examines the business case for carbon offsetting and whether it is right or wrong for your business. We examine regulations, technical aspects of projects and the role of BSI's new Publicly Available Specification 2060 (PAS2060). There will also be industry case studies and a section on responsible marketing.

Format: The session starts with breakfast and networking ahead of the core presentations and activities. There will also be further networking and an opportunity for 1-2-1 discussions with our experts after the presentations.

Who is this for: Marketing and Business Development directors and managers. Health, safety and environmental managers and directors. The session will be particularly relevant to large/corporate businesses.
