Dial-a-Cab contacted Carbon Footprint in September 2007 with the aim of being one of London’s greenest taxi firms.

Dial-a-Cab’s Requirements

  • Dial-a-Cab wanted to offer a ‘greener’ taxiing service.
  • Having a fleet of over 2000 taxis, Dial-a-Cab required an offsetting solution for the carbon emissions made by each of their client’s journeys.

The Process

  • Being a large contract, Carbon Footprint was asked to tender against other offsetting companies.
  • In addition to the company’s offsetting requirements, Carbon Footprint developed a full carbon management solution proposal for Dial-a-Cab.

Carbon Footprint’s Made to Measure Solution

  • Carbon Footprint developed a portfolio of projects of offset the 4,500 tonnes of carbon produced by Dial-a-Cab’s taxis:
  • Dial-a-Cab are now undergoing a full business carbon appraisal to consider the impacts of their buildings and company travel. This will include an on-site survey with possible solutions offered to reduce their carbon footprint.
  • Dial-a-Cab became an associate, hosting the Carbon Footprint logo on their website and printed material promoting their commitment to becoming more sustainable. Press releases were well received with articles printed in the top trade publications.
