DSR goes for Carbon neutral
Northampton based pan-European print management company DSR has been awarded the prestigious Carbon Footprint Licence from Carbon Footprint Ltd as part of its environmental strategy.
DSR is now implementing a comprehensive programme to help prevent climate change which includes assessment of its green house gas (GHG) emissions, on-going management and setting targets for the future so reductions can be effectively measured.
The new licence will ensure that emissions generated from its business will now be entirely offset by Carbon Footprint’s wind farm sustainable energy project in India.
Environmental and ethical concerns have long been a key business consideration for DSR, having gained the global ‘green’ standard ISO14001 accreditation; Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) accreditations.
Phil Thomson, Business Systems Manager, DSR, comments: ”The licence will enable us to effectively offset our emissions - as a business we are aware that offsetting alone is not enough. We therefore need to tackle our underlying emissions so we are currently working with Northamptonshire University to address these concerns and reduce all of our GHG emissions.
“We believe it is important to give our clients the reassurance that they are working with a truly sustainable and environmentally aware partner. That’s why we have ensured that we not only offer high quality sustainable substrates but that we’re carbon neutral too.”
John Buckley, Managing Director, Carbon Footprint Ltd, said: "We are proud to reward DSR Group as a Carbon Footprint Approved company. Their commitments ensure that customers can choose a quality solutions provider without compromising the environment."
