Planting in action!1,000 new maya nut trees were recently planted by a class of sixth grade students from a local school, in District Hermosa, San Benito, Peten. The planting project took the children 6 hours to complete and provided them with a practical learning opportunity to discover more about the trees and benefits they provide to the local people and the environment.
Each participant was responsible for digging the hole to set the tree. Each student planted 30 trees during two days of work. |
