For chillers, escalators, air conditioners, compressors and other motor based installations, motor controls can provide energy savings of up to 40%, with payback periods between twelve months and two years.

Motors are only efficient when running at full load – when starting or running at part load, inefficiencies occur and energy is wasted.

Soft starters continuously adjust the motor terminal voltage so that the input energy corresponds to the mechanical output required. This reduces wasted power, improves motor power factor, improves efficiency and reduces motor heating.
