– Big business backs peer group learning to accelerate cost saving climate change plans

Carbon Footprint Ltd (www.carbonfootprint.com), the dedicated carbon managers, today launched their innovative new Academy. Global corporate companies have enthusiastically signed up to take part in the first workshop, focused on addressing climate change, while vitally enhancing their market position and saving costs. As well as regular meetings & workshop sessions, the Academy will have an on-line community, and members will help each other to solve issues that stand between themselves & their climate change goals.

Carbon Footprint Ltd is an award winning carbon management consultancy, trusted by businesses from SMEs to household names globally. Their full range of carbon management products & services help businesses to reduce costs and improve sales performance

Today the business launched its new Carbon Footprint Academy, an innovative forum for businesses to discuss and learn from Carbon Footprint’s experts and from each other, with a workshop attended by household names, including Deutsche Bank & AkzoNobel (new owner of ICI). Members listened to keynote updates on markets & the latest carbon & cost saving lighting technology.

Going forward, Academy members will receive regular updates on legislation and its impact on their business, as well as expert guides, advice on new low carbon technologies, strategies & best practice for carbon management. Crucially, members will be provided with a unique forum to network, discuss & solve issues by learning from each other. Activities will take place at workshop meetings and on-line, in line with a carbon saving philosophy.

The launch of the Carbon Footprint Academy is extremely timely for business, says John Buckley, Managing Director,

“Business is faced by the double whammy of the recession and need to cost save, combined with new legislation such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment, which carries heavy cost & reputation penalties for high carbon emitters”.

Added Buckley

“Our Academy provides the first dedicated forum, not only to give businesses the facts, but with their peers, to find the right solution to speed their carbon plans, reduce costs and make sure they comply with new law.”
