Green Self Assessment for Small Businesses – Carbon Footprint Ltd launch a free business carbon calculator

Carbon Footprint Ltd has today launched an online business carbon footprint calculator, aimed at helping small businesses all over the world understand their impact on climate change.

The calculator has been launched on www.carbonfootprint.com, home to the internet’s leading domestic carbon footprint calculator. The new calculator is based on the domestic version, but is tailored for use by small businesses.

John Buckley, Managing Director of Carbon Footprint Ltd said, “It is good to offer this free tool to small businesses, as it allows us to reach out to a far greater number of companies worldwide than would otherwise have been possible through our UK based carbon footprint consultancy service.”

Mr Buckley added, “The business calculator tool will not necessarily be suitable for all businesses. We would still recommend larger organisations to contact us, so we can provide a more tailored service to meet their individual business requirements, and guide them through the process of calculating, reducing and offsetting their emissions, but for those smaller enterprises concerned by their effects on the environment, it is a great place to start.”

By completing a quick online calculation, businesses will start to understand which part of their activities are contributing most to climate change. Armed with this knowledge and the reduction advice based on the website, they can then start implementing simple actions to reduce their emissions.

For further reduction solutions in addition to behavioural changes, Carbon Footprint Ltd offers on site assessments of energy and water usage with a view to installing new technologies to help companies reduce carbon emissions and save money.

Businesses looking to promote their green credentials will also be able to apply for the “Carbon Footprint Approved Company” branding, which can be displayed on marketing materials to help communicate their successes to staff, customers and other stakeholders.
