Carbon Footprint helps NorthgateArinso ‘Empower’ businesses to reduce carbon emissions
CO2 calculator added to its online expenses system
NorthgateArinso has teamed up with Carbon Footprint, the leading environmental consultancy, to launch a new CO2 calculator in its Empower HR and payroll solution. The online tool offers employees the option to calculate their CO2 emissions for business travel when submitting expenses. It was launched to help businesses comply with The Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme by enabling reporting of carbon emissions from travel, and will also help organisations to save costs.
The Carbon Reduction Commitment is being introduced under The Climate Change Bill and is a new mandatory scheme to reduce carbon emissions set to affect large non-energy intensive organisations.
Empower, NorthgateArinso’s HR management solution, is now able to help businesses comply with the new legislation and manage their impact on the environment. Empower’s CO2 calculator is based on data entered via self-service, when employees submit their expenses. The data saved is sent to www.carbonfootprint.com, which automatically calculates the
CO2 figure and sends it back to the Empower application.
The new module is easy to use, and as well as helping businesses achieve compliance, it will also allow them to stand out as environmentally responsible and save energy costs. The module will also allow HR teams to run detailed reports on the company’s carbon footprint, based on data from the calculator. By helping companies take the first step and measure their carbon footprint, targeted reduction measures can follow.
