Hypnos has supported a range of offsetting projects including: UK tree planting and VCS - planting 600 trees in schools in the UK Wind and Hydro power projects in India Wind energy project in China Landfill Gas project in Indonesia Efficient Cookstove project in Kenya Preventing deforestation projects in Brazil
The staff at Hypnos even assisted with the tree planting at several locations in the UK. |
OutcomeSince 2011, Hypnos has reduced their carbon emissions by 66.7% per £M turnover and 53.7% per employee. As the majority of their emissions are caused by their site gas and electricity, these are the areas in which the largest savings have been made. Hypnos has managed to decrease their emissions, whilst still growing as a business primarily through fuel switching, ongoing improvements to energy efficiency and increased energy management. Hypnos has also achieved ESOS and ISO 14001 compliance and is now the first British bed and mattress manufacturer to achieve carbon neutrality and comply with PAS 2060. |
